Batey’s Taxis of Hexham is based in the small market town of Hexham situated amongst some of Northumberland’s most beautiful countryside and only six miles from Hadrian’s Wall.
Hexham Abbey, in the heart of Hexham town, is one of the oldest buildings in England and was founded by Wilfrid in 674. It is not only a popular visitor attraction due to its rich history but is also frequently visited by the locals.
A farmer’s market takes place in the town centre two Saturdays a month with local produce sold from the countryside farms that surround Hexham.
Batey’s Taxis in Hexham have been operating their cabs since 1973 and during that time have gained vast experience in the travel and tourism of Hexham and the surrounding areas. Based at Hexham train station we’re at a great location to pre-book a taxi and begin exploring Hexham, Hadrian’s Wall or Vindolanda.
Our cab service has a staffed office based at Hexham station open 7 days a week 0800 – 1500 but to avoid disappointment we recommend you book in advance before your arrival at Hexham train station.
